Charge Ticker privacy policy
Last updated October 26, 2026
Charge Ticker shows how much charge is going into or out of your phone's battery. Everything it measures stays on your phone. The only thing that ever leaves the phone is a small set of anonymous usage counts, described below, and you can switch that off.
What stays on your phone
Battery readings (current, voltage, temperature, charge level, history and graphs) and your settings are kept only on your phone and are never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Anonymous usage counts
To see how many people use the app and which features and phones to improve for, the app sends a few counts now and then to our server (a Cloudflare Worker). They include:
- A random number the app makes for itself the first time it sends counts. It isn't tied to your name, account, phone number, advertising ID or any other app.
- The app version and where it was installed from.
- Your phone's maker and model (for example "Google Pixel 10 Pro") and Android version, so we know which phones report charging current correctly.
- Whether the phone reports battery current at all, and the measurement settings you chose (units, flip +/−, update speed, temperature unit).
- How the app was used each day: how many times it was opened, whether the phone was charging, full or on battery at the time, the charger type (wall, USB, wireless, dock), and whether you turned the status-bar readout on or off.
Approximate location. Our server looks up the country (and, in the United States, the state) that your internet connection comes from, using Cloudflare's standard lookup. Only the country or state is kept. Your IP address, city and precise location are never stored, and the app never asks for location permission.
We don't collect names, email addresses, contacts, photos, files or battery readings, and we don't use advertising or third-party analytics services.
How it's used and shared
The counts are used only to understand and improve Charge Ticker. They aren't sold, shared with anyone else, or used for advertising. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Your choices
Turn off Settings → Share anonymous usage in the app at any time. The app then stops sending counts and asks our server to delete the history kept for its random number. A phone that hasn't sent counts for 90 days is deleted automatically. Totals already added up (like "12 people opened the app on Tuesday") can't be traced back to anyone and are kept. How to delete your data.
Notifications
If you turn on the status-bar readout, the app shows an ongoing notification with the live reading. It's created on your phone and nothing about it is sent anywhere.
Children
Charge Ticker is a general-audience utility and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
